11 employees participated in the ICS typing campaign on February 10. That’s 11 more chances to save lives with a stem cell donation.
Every 16 minutes, someone in Germany is diagnosed with blood cancer, including many children and adolescents. For many patients, the transfer of healthy stem cells is the only chance of survival. But one in five patients does not find a donor. This is because, for a stem cell donation, the tissue characteristics of the donor must match those of the patient by 100 percent.
For this reason, ICS decided at the end of 2014 to support the fight against blood cancer and offer its employees the opportunity to be typed.
In doing so, the outsourcing specialist for HR Management and Accounting is placing itself at the service of DKMS Deutsche Knochenmarkspenderdatei (German Bone Marrow Donor Registry).
“For us, it goes without saying that we should also be socially involved,” says Michael Teich (Managing Director of ICS). “We are pleased to support DKMS by organizing a typing campaign.”
